5 Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT)

IBIT connects students with industry leaders, funds events and scholarships, provides project and internship opportunities and classroom speakers, and produces new knowledge and research. The specific activities of IBIT include:

5.1 Executive Breakfast Series

The Executive Breakfast Series are meetings that offer a panel of noted practitioners addressing current issues. About 75-100 selected decision makers are in attendance and sit with our faculty and students over a hot breakfast and engaging conversation. The Breakfast Series has developed into a highly anticipated event for executives, students and faculty to meet and greet in a comfortable learning environment.

5.2 Fox Information Technology Awards

The Fox IT Innovator, Leader, and Distinguished Alumni awards are awarded as part of the annual Fox IT Awards Reception. A committee comprising of the senior leadership at Fox and previous recipients nominates and selects individuals for the awards. This is event is open to all current undergraduate students who have MIS as their major or minor.

5.3 Fellows

The fellows program recognizes information technology leaders and provides a structure for involving practitioners with The Fox School.

5.4 Advisory Board

The Fox School MIS Advisory Board will assist the MIS department and associated Institute for Business and Information Technology in realizing its vision of becoming a nationally ranked premier provider of integrative business and technology education and research. The board is chaired by Bruce Fadem, former CIO, Wyeth and is composed of senior IT executives from across the country.
